Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area

The Marine Protected Area is divided into zones subject to different protection regimes, taking into account environmental characteristics. In order to be able to implement and comply with the regulations underlying the establishment of the Marine Protected Area, the latter has been divided into three zones:
ZONE A (RED) Integral Reserve
ZONE B (YELLOW) General Reserve
ZONE C (GREEN) Partial reserve

ZONE A (RED)
The following are prohibited:
-access, navigation, and parking of ships, boats, and watercraft of any kind except those authorized by the Managing Authority for service and study purposes;
-bathing;
-professional and sport fishing.
The following are permitted:
-scientific research and service activities authorized by the Managing Authority;
-underwater guided tours authorized by the Managing Authority.

ZONE B(YELLOW)
The following are prohibited:
– the motor navigation of the ships and boats;
– the motor navigation of vessels in the stretch of sea between Punta Campanella, Baia di le ranto,o, Punta Montalto and the Mortelle locality;
– diving and underwater guided tours not authorized by the Managing Authority;
– anchoring;
– sport fishing;
– professional fishing not authorized by the Managing Authority.
The following are permitted:
– bathing;
– guided underwater tours and individual or group diving authorized by the Managing Authority;sailing, rowing, pedal-powered or electric propulsion;
– motor boating to vessels except for the stretch of sea between Punta Campanella,Baia di leranto, Punta Montalto and the Mortelle locality.

ZONE C(GREEN)
The following are prohibited:
– sport fishing not authorized by the Managing Entity;professional fishing not authorized by the Managing Entity
The following are allowed:
– motorboats and boats as well as recreational vessels;
– bathing;
– individual or group diving by individuals who are not residents of the municipalities falling within the marine area subject to the permission of the Managing Authority;
– guided underwater tours conducted by dive centers authorized by the Managing Authority;
– anchoring;
– professional fishing authorized by the Managing Entity;- sport fishing authorized by the Managing Entity,with the exception of the stretch of sea contiguous to the Vervece zoneA for a distance of 200 meters from theamedamed A zone;
In the Marine Protected Area is not allowed the use of jet skis or jet skis and similar means, the practice of water skiing and similar water sports and underwater fishing.
